Overt or covert, human history is riddled with conflict from the days of Cain’s fratricide of Abel to current wars. Conflict finds fertile ground among nations, families, ideologies, religions, and cultures. What is so tragic about much of this historical dissension, is that much of it is fomented by those seeking personal gain.
Warfare is a necessary evil, human kind faced the first warfare in the garden of eden, and since then we are on the losing ground of this human tragedy. Just to look at the long Chinese histroy, less than 1000 years of peace time recorded in the Chinese history, the rest 4000 years were wars among the people, or invasions from outside! These were all ignited by our 'jealousy' in our heart which is another form of warfare - Spiritual warfare. In order to have a true 'peace' we must win the internal battles, one at a time! Shalom!
